Weekend Wrap – Saturday and Sunday 29th and 30th of January

1st Grade | 0/70 def Northbridge 69 @ Boronia Park | One Day Match

Our first graders were desperate for a win in the books after losing their lead at the top of the ladder and came up trumps against Northbridge at Boronia Park.

Losing the toss and put into the field – the Cammers bowled with solid line and length to dwindle Northbridge all out for 69 in 33 overs. Special mention to the Skipper Kevin Johnson who bowled 8 overs 4/18 as well as Tommy Abraham with 2/8.

With a low total and a chance to send a message to the rest of the competition, Shane Henry and Jack Rickard went out to bat with full intentions of getting the job done themselves, and so they did, with Rickard (31*) and Henry (30*) getting the runs after only 12 overs.

Batting first, the Cammers had some handy contributions from skipper James Dainton with 31, Hugo Vlachos with 29 and James Fraser with 26. But a lot of runs were left out there as they used their full 35 overs to pitch a score of 0/132.

Taking the reins as skipper from his father and doing it easy was Mike ‘The Better’ Si who led the way in besting North Shore at Primrose Park on Saturday.

Batting first, The Better Si opened the batting and joined by his no.3 Ben Key – scored 58 and 52 to set the Cammer’s up for success as they used their full 35 overs to score 7/202.

The start of the North Shore innings worked out perfectly for the Cammers with Tom Yeomans dismissing one of the opening batsmen for a duck (quack quack OT) – and consistently ripped through the top order leaving a big chase in the lower orders hands.

Leading with the ball for the lads was James Sibbald with 2/21 and Oscar Stewart with 2/36. Maybe Mike should skipper the side for the rest of the season?

Last but never least are the Cammeray D Graders who have not only dominated their opponents but done it in style with some extraordinary milestones.

Batting first against Northbridge, the opening pair of Richard Walshe (50) and Oscar Mufford (81) led from the front both scoring half centuries before the show was stolen by Nick Gardiner with an unbeaten 102 (his 3 century of the season).
