Weekend Wrap – February 5 & 6

1st Grade | 9/192 against North Shore (yet to bat) @ Willoughby Park | Day 1 of 2 Day Match

An exciting grand final rematch was on the cards last weekend for first grade and it lived up to its expectations nicely. Losing the toss and put into bat, the Cammers started off nicely with our opening pair getting to 35 before we lost both in quick succession.

At 3/72, a classic Cammeray collapse occurred leaving the lads crawling at 7/87 with 30+ overs left in the day. This is where things get exciting as Andy Coleman and Vice-Captain Elliot Palmer begun their road to recovery driving us to 118 before Coleman went cheaply.

Joined by first grade debutant Luke Schofield, Palmer went about his business scoring freely supported by Schofield’s defence. Their vital 68-run partnership have put Cammeray in a strong place to defend with Palmer not out on 70* as Cammeray sit at 9/192.

All eyes on day 2 this Saturday!

E Palmer – 70*

J Rickard – 19
