Round 11 Wrap – Saturday and Sunday 19/20 & 26/27 of February

1st Grade | 2/102 (dec) def Northbridge 74 @ Koola Park | Two Day Match

Coming into the game, our 1st grade lads were sitting 3rd on the standings and were eager to capitalise on their 2-day match up against Northbridge. Winning the toss and bowling first, the Cammers had a very frustrating 1st session taking only wicket for 20-odd runs.

The second session had a different result as Cammeray ripped through Northbridge skittling them for 74 on a reasonable deck. Best figures go to Skipper Kevin Johnson with 3/14 off 15 overs (8 maidens). Joining him was Shane Henry with 3/12 off 18 others (12 maidens), Tyron Gyde with 2/23 (8 overs) and Lucais Haldane with 1/11 (6 overs)

With about 2 hours left in the day, Cammeray openers Scott Costain and Jack Rickard put on a 70-run partnership with Costain bringing up 50 in the process. Johnson then came in and hit a six over cover with his first ball as he proceeded to smack a quick fire 24 before declaring at 2/102.

Northbridge were 1/17 after the end of Day 1 with the lads licking their lips with the chance of an outright victory…. But it wasn’t to be.

That win brings our 1st grade lads into second place overall on the ladder.
